While at the Sundance Film Festival my wife Lindsay and I got to meet the vibrant and cheery Arden Myrin. Of course we have to go to Utah to meet a fellow New Yorker (she lives here now anyway). Ms. Myrin was there to promote her film “Bachelorette,” which we can’t wait to see. She also picked up a pair of the Minx in grey shearling. Her portrait was chosen as one of the best during the film festival. And I have to say that we agree! Here is a link: http://www.beaumontenterprise.com/entertainment/slideshow/Best-of-Sundan...
Spent some time in Milan getting some inspiration for Fall 2012. A few images from the trip.
Sharon Stone was spotted wearing the Nouer III in LA recently. And while you can see just a hint of the sandal, our Basic Instinct tells us they are vintage Matt Bernson. One of our 2009 bestsellers, they are no longer available. The good news: we updated this style for the 2011 season, now called the Nouer V (the 5th version) - it’s Evolution Baby! Here is a link to buy.
This photo really says it all. The TUNDRA is a functional boot, but it also kicks butt in the style department. While Gisele could easily have asked her quarterback husband to carry her to the sidewalk she just blazes her way through the snow on her own. She wears the boot perfectly, with the outside unsnapped, fur showing just a little bit. Gisele is so hot that all the snow on that block has already melted, while the rest of Boston still has 3 feet of snow everywhere else.
We were so psyched to see this beautiful girl in Milan featured on The Sartorialist wearing the Bomber wedges. There is something about this photo that is really compelling. The coolest part is it is just a regular girl caught mid-day. Plus, how awesome is it that she is biking around in 4" platform wedges. We have always said these are comfortable, but she takes it to a new level. The comments are really worth reading. OK, with a wink and a blush, here is the Racked.com article. It is hilarious, innovative, and quite a niche concept.

It's that time of year. And nothing is a better gift than shoes, we all know that. Some snaps of our gifting session. The dynamic duo of Liz and Gina spearheaded some pretty fancy yet rustic and raw gift packages. And with joy in their hearts they made it all happen (you can tell by the smiles). Happy Holidays to all.
PS. Yes Liz and Gina are wearing matching outfits from head to toe. Waffle shirts covered in mistletoe, furry vests, glasses, side ponytails, jeans and Helena boots. That's the spirit that seems so rare in these modern times of fast fashion and real time technology.
On Tuesday, October 17, I debuted the Matt Bernson Special Project collection on the HSN network, presented by Lucky Magazine. And what a thrill it was. I was a little daunted by the prospect that my first time on national television would be two 45 minute segments aired LIVE. But, once down there the whole team at HSN made me feel so at home and took such great care of me that it was more like summer camp than work. They were so much fun, and the amount of people it took to get something like Lucky Shops executed with military precision was astounding. The other thing that made it amazing was the team from Lucky Magazine that brought their great style and straight-forward philosophy to the project. It was a huge success, the limited edition Matt Bernson Special Project sold out very quickly. It was an honor to be a part of the whirlwind event. I had so much fun with the other designers: Andrew Cotton of Linea Pelle and Mellisa Akey of Thread Social. The in store performance by Tamar Kaprelian in the Scoop Meatpacking store was a smash success! Tamar put on a great show, and even had a little help from Thom Yorke percussionist Mauro Refosco! It was packed from wall to wall, spilling onto Washington St. in the twilight of a beautiful NYC summer evening. Bruce even had to jump behind the bar to make sure we were getting enough Ciroc vodka drinks out to an eager and thirsty crowd. Tamar looked stunning in her Philip Lim 3.1 dress and Matt Bernson St. Jeunet booties (which will be in stores in October). Thanks to everyone that came out and made the evening truly memorable. We'll be doing it again soon for sure. Here are some images from the night:
